The Upgrade That Changed Everything: Moving from Sage 50 to a Unified ERP System

After purchasing the company in 2025, the new owners of CamCentral Systems quickly realized that the paper-based processes they inherited wouldn’t allow the business to grow as quickly or efficiently as they envisioned. It wasn’t just that they had questions about how to maintain consistent communication with existing clients to inform them of upcoming changes, there was the time-consuming processes of taking and managing orders, and purchasing. And getting operational reports involved hours of data preparation from multiple systems into a spreadsheet, and that time including determining if and where the data was available.
Within a few weeks of the transition, the owners made the decision to look for a new way of operating the business.
Solution
During conversations with ASC Creative, the new owners wanted to understand what parts of their operations and workflows could be changed without impacting the daily operations of the business. In response to their current problems and future needs, ASC Creative created a roadmap which included moving the business away from spreadsheets and Sage 50 to OdooERP. Implementing an ERP allowed the owners to address immediate operational issues in a matter of weeks, and plan for the eventual consolidation of data from all parts of their operations.
Working on a staging environment that didn’t affect the daily operations, ASC Creative implemented the accounting system, including purchasing and invoicing, and imported all data into the new environment within a few weeks.
The training and cutover took less than three hours, and the company has not looked back.
Result
The initial implementation is now allowing the company to offer highly profitable services, more in line with the original goals of the new owners.
Camcentral also now has deep insight into the business operations and have, as a result, been able to add entirely new lines of products and services.
